Introducing a true patina queen… this 1965 Beetle is a great survivor.

After being sat in a garage unloved for the best part of 40 years, it was dragged out and given a full go through. At this time it received a strong rebuilt 1600 twinport engine, a full gearbox rebuild by John Walklett, dropped spindles the list goes on…

The paint has the most incredible patina, cracked original Ruby red paint takes over the body and has been locked in with several layers of clear lacquer to protect it forever more.

This car has barely had ANY welding and retains all of its original German panels! It’s truly solid as a rock!

The brakes have all been gone through and it stops as it should. The 1600 absolutely flies and doesn’t struggle to keep up with modern traffic. This car really does drive nice. Oh and even the heaters work!

The interior is beaitifully original, down to the carpets and rubber mats! The door cards have previously been covered in original style just to smarten things up a tad!

There’s some nice period accessories lurking about, including some cool curb feelers, GB badge and teeny rear reflectors!

She’s been lowered all round very sensibly, just a touch at the back and rebuilt dropped spindles at the front just closing in that arch gap.

Over all, this is a true patina build that drives probably better than when it was new!

This can be enjoyed as it is, or we all know it’d look good with a true slam treatment!

Tickets are only £4.99 and the competition closes on 30th September, join us for the live draw on Facebook.

Good luck!
